Recycle Right!

Know what to throw!

Clean cardboard, paper and plastic jugs all belong in your recycling cart. And yes, you can keep the lids on!

Empty. Clean. Dry.

Dirty cans, dirty bottles and dirty cardboard can contaminate other recyclables. Don't ruin the fun. Keep it clean and stay classy.

Bags are bad.

You don't want them under your eyes and we don't want them in our recycling carts.

Just say NO to bags.

facts

Glass and metals, including aluminum, can be recycled indefinitely, without a loss of quality.

The energy saved by recycling one glass bottle will operate a 100-watt lightbulb for four hours.

The average piece of printer paper can be recycled 5 times before being made into lower-grade paper-based materials.

Americans waste about 425 beverage containers per capita per year--twice as many as we recycle.

Compostable plastics don’t break down during typical composting and end up in landfills where they last as long as forever plastics.

As of 2015, more than 6.3 billion tons of plastic waste was generated. Only 9 percent was recycled.
